United Living has joined with social housing landlord, Newport City Homes to deliver a £5.5m programme to transform 438 blocks as part of a two-year programme due for completion in 2017.

The works, comprise of three separate project phases.

As part of phase one, the works will provide a total upgrade of communal areas to all blocks of flats including; replacing flooring, lighting, balustrades and re-decorating.

Replacing paint stained carpets and tiles forms another phase of the project. So far, United Living have successfully cleaned affected carpets and leather furniture within a day.

As a third division of the large-scale investment works, United Living have also hired apprentice Blaine Cunliff for administration, tenant liaison and labouring work. His work has been so good, that he has since been appointed a full-time position with United Living’s sub-contractor V+C.
